Hepatitis C testing and Hepatitis B testing is conducted on a sample of blood that can be collected through a blood draw or by puncturing the skin. During a blood draw, a health care provider takes a sample of blood from a vein in the patient's arm. Blood tests can detect signs of the Hepatitis B virus in the body and assess whether it's acute or chronic. A simple blood test can also determine if one is immune to the condition.
